The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and administering a comprehensive communications and marketing program for the school. The position is a direct report to the Executive Associate Dean (EAD) and the selected candidate will be an experienced leader who is passionate about the school and its mission and values. Duties include: create and maintain a communications plan that highlights faculty thought leadership and student achievement in conjunction with school priorities; manage creation of internal and external communications materials (collateral, news releases, feature and web content, advertising, recruitment materials, and online and social media) for the school and its faculty; manage the school’s website; deliver communications and marketing counsel to the Dean, EAD, and administrators; coordinate with central university communicators and marketers on news and information about the school; cultivate and maintain a strong media presence through strategic outreach; and oversee annual and signature events.
REQUIRED: Master's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a closely related field and professional experience in higher education communications and marketing or extensive, high-level experience in journalism, public relations, marketing or allied fields; experience in a supervisory capacity.
Advanced writing and editing skills; possess an understanding of current and emerging technologies to successfully reach targeted constituent populations; demonstrate outstanding strategic planning skills; possess intellectual depth and professional maturity; and must be able to work successfully both individually and as part of a team.
