Carnegie Science Center seeks an Assistant Director of Marketing to develop strategies for communicating CSC’s mission, exhibitions, and programming to a wide range of audiences, both regional and national, and for maximizing CSC’s profile in the STEM education arena. The Assistant Director writes, edits, and produces a variety of print and electronic communications with a special emphasis on digital communication vehicles and technologies. The incumbent will be versed on current events and trends in the news and social media and assists Science Center staff to quickly respond to and be in the forefront of topics that are relevant to our mission. The Assistant Director has overall authority of the CSC Marketing Department in the Marketing Director’s absence.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, or related field, plus five years' experience in an agency, non-profit organization, or corporate communications department. Must have excellent writing and computer skills, expertise in social media and digital technology, and strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Must be strategic, deadline-oriented, and able to work well under pressure. Must be positive, optimistic, flexible, and energetic.
