This is a dual role responsible for the creative direction of assigned unit-level projects as well as serving as lead writer for the paid advertising and branding team.
As associate creative director, you will work hands-on with a creative team on large-scale, cross-channel communications that deliver on university and school-level strategic objectives. Every day brings something different so the ability to switch gears quickly and gracefully is essential.
• Expertly manage the creative process: Keep several projects flowing smoothly, continually reviewing and optimizing creative • Delivering outstanding creative presentations: Be the greatest advocate for work by providing rational and strategy in a clean, compelling format • Inspire and motivate a creative team: Provide hands-on conceptual and team leadership on creative projects from starting point through execution. Ensure the final deliverables are strategically on point, on time and meet the objective. • Work closely and collaboratively with account managers, media managers and strategic planners • Serve as lead writer on integrated marketing and brand projects. • Create copy for a variety of audiences, brands and industries • Distill complex concepts into compelling stories that can be told through a variety of channels (website, VO script, presentations, etc).
• Positive energy, a sense of humor and an open and curious mind • Significant advertising industry experience leading integrated, cross-channel campaigns including websites, digital marketing, social media, broadcast, radio, print and direct marketing (bring your book and be ready to chat) • Exceptional copywriting and conceptual skills • Ability to work within established brand standards and client guidelines • Expertise in the fundamentals of visual communication, design and branding • Awareness of current trends in advertising, higher education and pop culture • A passion and expertise for mentoring talent – be ready to work with and grow a creative team of both seasoned professionals and junior talent • A keen sense of audience behavior • Ability to use research and data to inform and drive creative strategy • Ability to work in a diverse environment required
