| Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, seeks a highly motivated graduate assistant for the Fall 2017 Semester and beyond. The graduate assistant will gain hands-on experience in marketing and promotions through a number of tasks. This position will be the primary marketing contact for at least one sport, and will be assigned tasks for multiple sports. Upon review, this position is eligible to be extended to a second year. Northwestern State competes at the Division I level in the Southland Conference. |
Duties: • Develop graphic and multimedia elements across digital channels to increase fan followings and drive fan engagement • Create and edit graphics for teams' promotional materials, gameday programs and sponsor advertisements, among other things • Assist with creation of content (infographics, memes, GIFs, etc.) for social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram • Capture unique, behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the team during games, practices and special events to share on social media • Produce high qaulity video content for videoboards and web streaming • Attend team, sponsor and community events as needed • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Sport Management, Marketing, Communications or other related field. • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in college athletics, particularly in marketing and promotions. • Graduate assistants shall be admitted to a Northwestern State University graduate program. GRE scores are a requirement for admission and vary by particular program. • Previous athletics experience as a student worker, or an intern. Preferably in marketing or working with social media.
Salary: $12,000 annual stipend, out of state fee waiver
