The Assistant Director of Marketing and Design is responsible for leading and overseeing all marketing, branding, creative services, project intake management, planning, and workflow for Auxiliaries. He/she provides key project planning, management and coordination, and production management for Auxiliaries print publications and websites, and mobile apps including OHIO Culinary Services operations, Regional Campus Retail venues, Bobcat Depot and the Ohio University Airport. Utilizing performed research, customer surveys, institutional/divisional benchmarking, and service and sales assessment he/she advises and collaborates with Auxiliary Directors and front-line support staff on departmental revenue-generation opportunities, customer-focused initiatives, campus-wide service promotions and program enhancements. 1.Accountable for the research, development, execution and assessment of comprehensive short and long form marketing and branding strategies for Auxiliaries designed to enhance departmental prominence, customer service and financial efficiency. Executes development, design and implementation of promotions highlighting Culinary Residential Dining meal plan participation and Retail Operations, resulting in increased revenue opportunities and business growth for all Culinary profit centers. 2.Serves as primary liaison between the DOSA marketing team and Culinary Services operations. Directly interacts and collaborates with Printing Services on large scale marketing initiatives for the Auxiliaries. Conducts research on current and future national trending patterns with respect to higher education, commercial food service, retail, restaurants, merchandising, printing, menus, customer service and decision-making factors impacting recruitment and retention. 3.Directs Culinary Services main website and supporting profit center websites, mobile apps, electronic content management and web-based advertising. Collaborating with the Assistant Director of Communications and Digital Communications Manager to fulfill all social media/communications needs. Will also collaborate on the execution of public relations and special event activities promoting the Auxiliaries, including material development, presentation planning, drafting key communications and media releases, photography, event coordination and documentation. 4.Directs and mentors divisional marketing and graphic design team consisting of a full-time staff member, student employees and intern staff to develop original artwork, collateral layouts and electronic pieces highlighting Auxiliaries' service offerings, promotions, departmental commitments and vision strategies.
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Business or related field.
Minimum of 3 years related work experience
Minimum of 1 year supervisory or managerial experience
