The Director of Marketing plans, develops and implements various hospital marketing/public relations programs to create a positive awareness of the hospital, its staff and services in the primary and secondary market area.
Establishes department goals and plans for the department, in accordance with the hospital’s goals and plans.
Prepares, revises and implements policies and procedures necessary for hospital operation, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
Active participant on various hospital committees and/or projects as appropriate.
Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
Focuses on continuous improvements as a process to achieve desired outcomes pertaining to patient satisfaction, quality outcomes and financial performance.
Demonstrates the ability to assess a situation from many perspectives, consider various alternatives and choose appropriate action.
Takes accountability for decisions and actions
Supports and promotes the hospital’s mission, vision and values statements.
Incorporates and enforces general safety standards and emergency preparedness codes in departments.
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communication, journalism, or related coursework.
Prior experience in healthcare management desired.
Supervisory and management skills preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills.
Experience with media, marketing, public speaking, advertising, promotion, legislative and community groups desired.

Physical Requirements L – Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work.
