The University of New Haven is seeking a dynamic marketing pro to join the University’s central Marketing & Communications team.
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial self - starter who knows marketing, higher education, and fundraising backwards and forwards. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, the ideal candidate will have an unusual combination of skills and experience – must write award - winning prose in record time, relish the challenge of working on several, deadline - driven projects simultaneously, and be willing to turn on a dime when an unexpected need arises. This candidate will be passionate about collaboration, teamwork, and customer service, and comfortable writing in a wide range of genres – from Presidential speeches to annual fund appeals, and everything in between. Recent samples of work must be submitted with this application.
The position requires skills in writing compelling and effective text for a wide array of audiences including alumni, parents, community groups, corporations, and foundations. He or she will also have or demonstrate the ability to acq uire in - depth knowledge of the University, its programs, and its priorities. The position requires an individual with the ability to synthesize disparate facts, trends, and events into coherent and persuasive presentations on behalf of the college, particularly in support of its capital campaign and other fundraising initiatives.
Experience writing and persuasive messaging for development functions at a college or university or other knowledge - rich organization
Well - developed pro ject management skills
Serves as key writer and editor for advancement and alumni
Experience with copy writing for print, digital and social media platforms
Superior command of spelling, grammar and punctuation
Superior interpersonal and verbal communicati on skills
Experience collaborating with creative teams including graphic designers, illustrators and photographers
Attention to accuracy and detail
Strong copy editing and proof reading skills
Ability to work under tight deadlines
Minimum of five years of experience in a related field
