To develop and implement all aspects of the organization’s annual fundraising plan through campaigns targeting foundations, corporations, civic groups and individual donors within the community. Manage donor relations including cultivation opportunities, engagement initiatives, and stewardship. Direct the identification, research, cultivation and solicitation of planned gift prospects and major gift individual prospects. Conduct face-to-face solicitations, involving Club executives and key volunteers, as appropriate. Research, identify and solicit foundation and corporate grant requests. Develop and oversee annual communications plan including print and electronic materials as well as website and social media content.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Design and implement annual fundraising plan to meet annual organizational fundraising objectives including:
Stewardship (Individual and Events)
Identify grant opportunities through private and corporate foundations as well as municipal, state, county and federal agencies.
Establish, maintain and grow Community Partnerships with corporations to provide financial contributions, in-kind donations, increased event participation and increased volunteer hours.
Provide leadership to Development & Communications Manager to achieve departmental and organizational goals for communications with donors and the community at large.
Establish and monitor departmental budget including revenue, expenses and grant reconciliation.
Provide monthly fundraising and management reports to Board and Committee Members.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan regarding activities relating to donor solicitations and other club fundraising efforts.
Manage administrative and operational systems to track fundraising income, compile income status reports and variance reports recognize contributions with acknowledgment letters and special recognition events.
Ensure a productive working environment, providing staff support to Club management on fundraising issues.
Oversee overall external communications
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club management to exchange information, seek and give assistance, consultation and direction. Maintain contact with financial staff and support staff. Maintain verbal and written contact with volunteers and volunteer committees.
External: Maintain contact with community and corporate leaders, donors, business leaders and elected officials to provide information regarding club activities and needs in an effort to secure continued financial support of the organization.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of ten years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar not-for profit organization with an emphasis on fundraising, marketing, management, budgeting, community and public relations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to fundraising issues.
