Reports to: Director of Strategic Marketing and Communication
King School seeks a Marketing Manager to provide marketing strategy and implementation to support the King School Brand and the broad range of marketing initiatives for which this role is responsible. The role's primary focus is management of the King website and modules, paid digital and offline advertising, and content creation and communication.
Responsibilities and Primary Duties:
Website Ideation, Administration & Maintenance:
Develop innovative ideas to engage a range of constituents (current families, prospective families, alumni, etc.) via our website presence (kingschoolct.org) using historical data, informed SEO strategies, and general best practices for school websites.
Serve as the campus leader in understanding and utilizing our website CMS product (Finalsite Composer) as well as all subsequent modules including calendar manager, digital app, e-notify, forms manager, registration manager, athletics manager, etc.
Act as the primary liaison with our website platform partner. Escalate any website issues to Finalsite support team for timely resolution.
Proactively manage the day-to-day updates necessary on both frontend website pages as well as (3) website portal areas for Parents, Students and Faculty/Staff. Ensure content is updated in a timely manner as often as necessary.
Serve as the main contact for internal and external constituent website concerns, usage, and questions.
Train Faculty/Staff on using administrative privileges for the Website/Modules, as needed.
Understand and assist, as needed, with technologies stemming from the website including the school’s database (BlackBaud), health services platform (Magnus), as well as the Learning Management System.
Monthly Reporting: Provide regular analysis and data-based recommendations for site, taking into account user site experience data (Google Analytics), user program experience data (market research), and other relevant inputs.
SEO: Manage the SEO program, taking steps to improve King's search ranking and site traffic. Oversee the ongoing work of our SEO partner. Provide monthly reporting and data-based recommendations for ongoing improvement.
DIGITAL & OFFLINE ADVERTISING
Identify, implement, and iteratively optimize integrated advertising campaign strategy and content across digital and offline channels.
Paid Search & Remarketing: Manage King’s google search paid advertising program, taking steps to improve reach and conversion. Create custom advertisements in Photoshop to support campaigns. Oversee the ongoing work of our search partner. Provide monthly reporting and data-based recommendations for improvement/testing.
Paid Social Media: Provide strategy around usage of paid social media (Facebook/instagram) for campaigns, as needed. Understand current trends in social media, and utilize channel insights to maximize post performance and, ultimately, gain followers. Create custom advertisements in Photoshop as needed to support campaigns.
Display: Provide strategic recommendations for King’s display campaigns. Analyze results to identify trends to maximize CTR. Create custom advertisements in Photoshop as needed to support campaigns.
Offline Advertising: Manage creative strategy and media planning ideation and execution. Work effectively with designer and media partners to create and traffic our advertising content.
CONTENT CREATION & COMMUNICATION
Campaign Management: Manage marketing efforts (social, email, signage, etc) for on-campus events and programs such as: #GiveKingTuesday, Summer Institute, New Family Onboarding, Start of School update, and King Cares Family Service Day.
School Closings/Delays: Manage the communication to parents/students regarding school closings and delays.
Budget Management: Oversee budget for areas of responsibility including tracking and invoice processing
Flexibility: Work outside of standard business hours, as needed, to meet project deadlines and attend events. Some events occur in the evening and/or on the weekend.
Additional duties as needed, as assigned by the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communication, or School administration.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
High comfort level with using new technology. Experience working in a website CMS and/or email systems highly preferred.
Comfort in troubleshooting software technology platforms; strong customer service skills required
Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a professional marketer, with a strong emphasis on digital and social media
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience creating compelling content to be utilized across multiple channels (website, social media, etc.), a plus.
Demonstrated strength in working with teams, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and meeting deadlines
Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the following technologies; however prior work experience with is not required.
